On this week’s episode David catches up with Tom Bedford, the Race Director from the FIRST large scale race held in the UK since lockdown - the Kew Gardens 10K. The event was held over the 12th and 13th September 2020 so this podcast is was timed perfectly to chat with Tom with memories of the event still fresh. Tom discusses some of the stresses and strains of holding an event during a pandemic along with the risks associated and some of the extra hurdles the Richmond RunFest team encountered. This event brought so much more pressure due to the Uk running industry watching, but also it also meant that so many were there to support him (including David) across the weekend.
